EXTRA support is at hand for job seekers in South Craven.
Skipton Jobcentre Plus – which covers the area – is staging a series of activities, particularly geared towards older people.
The initiative is planned to coincide with National Older Workers Week, beginning on November 20.
Wendy Mangan, employer and partnership manager for York and North Yorkshire, told the Keighley News: "We're offering daily support throughout the week.
"Various partners and providers will be at Skipton Jobcentre Plus.
"The week will include support for those seeking employment whilst managing health conditions, a coaching service for women, employers recruiting for an age-diverse workforce, help with confidence and employability, skills updating and information from training providers.
"People should ask their work coach to book them onto any of the sessions.
"Latest employment statistics highlight the great work being done by work coaches in Skipton and a particular success is the 50- plus age group, with the number of over-50s claiming unemployment benefits decreasing by 21 per cent in the past year.
"Tailored support from work coaches is vital for jobseekers to reach their full potential.
"Support is available to everyone, including those leaving education, who are 50-plus or have a health condition."
