RECOGNISE anyone in these photographs?
They were taken by teacher Frank Trenouth during Keighley Boys’ Grammar School trips abroad in the 1950s and 60s.
The photos are amongst dozens given to Keighley and District Local History Society which will be available to view at the organisation’s Christmas meeting, taking place upstairs at the town’s library on the evening of Wednesday, December 13.
Tim Neal, for the society, says: “We’d love people to help us identify some of the young people in the photographs. Copies of the photos will be available on the night to look through.”
The meeting will also feature a Keighley-related quiz, recollections from committee member Steve Bown of Christmas in the town half a century ago using stories from the Keighley News, and a chance to look at some of the items donated to the society during the past year. Mince pies will be served.
Doors open at 7pm, and the meeting starts at 7.30pm.
All are welcome. Admission is free for members, and £3.50 for non-members.
People can renew their membership, or join, at the meeting.
Membership for 2024 is £15, or £20 for a couple living at the same address.
