RIDDLESDEN Post Office could be on the move.
Post Office Ltd has announced plans to relocate the branch, currently in Bar Lane, to Londis at 294-298 Bradford Road.
The branch would be renamed Stockbridge Post Office.
The company says the move would be to newly-built premises, operated by the existing postmaster, including a convenience store. There would be screened and open-plan serving positions.
It adds that the screened counter, offering a full range of Post Office services, would be open 8am-8pm Monday to Saturday and 8am-6pm Sundays, whilst the open-plan counter – with selected services – would operate from 7am-10pm daily.
"This would provide 105 hours of Post Office service every week – an extra 33 hours compared to what's currently provided," said a Post Office Ltd spokesperson.
"Public consultation is now underway, with the opportunity for people to give feedback on the proposed move and access into and within the store."
