OAKWORTH Village Society has received a boost.
Councillors Mark Curtis and Luke Maunsell, who represent Oakworth on Keighley Town Council, have given grants through their ward improvement funds.
A new gazebo for use by the society at community events is being funded through a £489 award, and £250 is being given for refreshments at the annual Tewitt Lane memorial service.
Cllr Maunsell says: "I'm glad this money is going to such a great group with a long track record of service.
"The Tewitt Lane memorial event is an important date in the village calendar. And the gazebo will help the village society better promote itself."
Cllr Curtis says: "The village society is embedded in our community and I am delighted this money will help it."
