PEOPLE across Keighley are being urged to once again support the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch.
Last year, participants from this area were amongst more than 14,000 across West Yorkshire – and over half a million nationally – who supported the initiative.
And the house sparrow came out tops, regionally and nationally, in the survey.
The bird has now headed the 'most seen' chart nationwide for two decades.
As part of the venture, people are asked to spend an hour watching and counting the birds in their garden, from their balcony or in a park, and then submit the results.
The count can be carried out anytime over three days – January 26, 27 or 28.
Beccy Speight, for the RSPB, says: "By taking part in the Big Garden Birdwatch, people are joining hundreds of thousands of others from across the UK – united in a love of nature – to play an important role in helping us understand how our birds are doing.
"With birds and other wildlife now facing so many challenges due to the nature and climate emergency, every count matters."
