A HISTORIC hall has a new roof.
Work is now complete on the scheme at Central Hall, in Alice Street, Keighley.
The project was financed through a £162,000 grant from Keighley Towns Fund.
The hall, originally built as a chapel, has been used by community organisations and businesses since undergoing renovations in 2010.
But there have been problems with the roof for several years.
Centre manager, Debbie Atkinson, says: "We had significant, ongoing issues with leaks, which impacted on the rest of the building.
"Thanks to Keighley Towns Fund, we were able to use local contractors – Broomhill Roofing – to completely re-roof the building. The work has already had a positive impact, and will continue to do so for years to come."
Liz Barker, acting chair of Keighley Towns Fund, says: "Central Hall is a beautiful, historic building. This is just one of many projects benefitting from the Towns Fund, which will help drive real social and economic change across Keighley."
Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council’s portfolio holder for regeneration, planning and transport, says: "Central Hall has become so much more than just a space to hire. The team there supports people, organisations and businesses in Keighley to thrive."
