WORK has been completed on a major scheme to transform a Keighley town-centre street.
Low Street underwent the first phase of an upgrade, at the Church Green end, in 2019.
Now stage two, covering the section from Market Street to Hanover Street, is finished.
The project received £505,000 from the Government-financed Keighley Towns Fund.
Steve Seymour, manager of the Airedale Shopping Centre, says: "Following on from the first phase of public realm works, these improvements have made a positive difference to the appearance and paths on Low Street and the approach to the centre.
"New lighting and pavement works have created a fresh, bright and attractive appearance for the area.
"Along with additional seating, waste bins, new cycle security frames and raised planters, the scheme makes this area a pleasant space in which to shop."
Liz Barker, acting chair of the Keighley Towns Fund board, says: "This work has made a significant difference to an already vibrant part of the town. We’re so pleased to see another Towns Fund project having such a positive impact in Keighley, and it will continue to do so for years to come."
The upgrade was designed by Bradford Council’s landscape, design and conservation team.
