AN event at Haworth has commemorated some of those who have lost their lives in the Gaza conflict – and raised money for charity.
West Lane Baptist Church, in conjunction with Churches Together, hosted yesterday's (March 2) gathering.
Some of the writers, poets, artists and journalists who have died were remembered at the well-attended event – which was based around the final poem penned by Dr Refaat Alareer.
There was a pop-up cafe, tombola, quiz, story telling, poetry, singing and peace meditation, and children decorated peace doves and made small angels.
People then walked with the 'Bronte sisters' to fly a white kite over Penistone Hill.
More than £700 was raised, which will go to the charities Doctors Without Borders and Medical Aid for Palestinians.
