CHILDREN at Oxenhope Primary School are clocking up the miles.
Pupils are running, walking, swimming or cycling a mile each day this month to raise funds.
Proceeds will help enhance the school's nature area, recently named Blackwell Woods in tribute to the late chair of governors, Anthony Blackwell.
The site is used for outdoor learning sessions, but has recently become overgrown and subject to flooding.
It's hoped the fundraising initiative – organised by the school Friends – will help pay for improvements including new trees, hedges and plants, a pond and wooden canopy.
Headteacher, Mrs Alice Jones, says: "I am incredibly proud of all our pupils taking on this challenge. The benefit of learning outdoors is invaluable for our children."
