TWO museums on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway will be opening their doors for free as part of a National Lottery initiative this summer.
The Engine Shed and Carriage Works – at Rail Story, Ingrow West Station – will waive their normal admission charges on June 14 and 15, to anyone showing a National Lottery ticket or scratchcard.
Free entry also applies to those accompanying the ticket holder.
Both the Bahamas Loco Society and the Vintage Carriages Trust, which operate the museums, have received National Lottery funding for projects – including the transformation of a former carriage into a classroom for visiting school groups, and restoration work on the Great Northern bogie carriage 2856.
Matt Arnold, for Rail Story, says: "We look forward to waiving the usual entry charges so people can explore our museums and discover what it was like to travel by rail in times gone by."
