I HAVE written an open letter to the incredible staff at Bradford Council, which reads as follows:
"To the dedicated team at Bradford Council, in a world where recognition often falls short, I want to take a moment to extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you.
"Over the past 14 years (of austerity), you've tirelessly served the people of our district, adapting and working throughout the pandemic to keep us all safe – weathering storms, and facing challenges head-on.
"Despite the constant backlash and the weight of filling the gaps left by those who were made redundant or retired without replacement, you've persevered. Your unwavering commitment and resilience have not gone unnoticed.
"It's unjust that you've gone without a pay increase in line with the cost of living throughout those years, however, you’ve understood the circumstances and continued to serve regardless. Your sacrifices and dedication deserve to be acknowledged and celebrated.
"Know that I see you. I recognise the incredible efforts you pour into our community day in and day out.
"Thank you for all that you do for the people of our district. Your contributions make a difference, and your hard work is appreciated."
Councillor Julie Lintern, Independent
