PLANS for new homes at Oakworth have been refused.
A planning application had been submitted to Bradford Council for three houses on land off Pasture Avenue.
Applicant WJ Poole said the development was "capable of being integrated into its setting", and that Bradford district was facing a large shortfall in its required housing.
But planners argued that the land provided an important green buffer between Dockroyd and the rest of the village.
They added that the site made "a positive contribution to the character of the Oakworth Conservation Area due to its openness".
Concerns were also raised by council highways officers, who feared that different levels on the site would mean driveways would be so steep residents may instead opt to park on the street.
