MEMBERS of Haworth Riding for the Disabled shone in a Special Olympics event.
They were competing under the Dearne Valley Special Olympics banner in the event, held at the Wirral Riding Centre, on Merseyside.
A trio of riders from the Haworth group together scooped nine medals – Rose Green won two golds and a silver, Gabby Reed-Griffiths one gold and two silver, and Lucy Hargreaves one gold and two bronze.
The full seven-strong contingent took 11 gold medals, four silver and five bronze.
Jackie Butterfield, of Haworth Riding for the Disabled, says: "It was an amazing accomplishment by them all.
"They rode ponies and horses, belonging to the riding school, that they hadn’t ridden before which was a real testament to their skills and confidence."
