AN award-winning adventurer and travel writer is in Haworth next week.
Phoebe Smith will be at the Wave of Nostalgia independent bookshop, in Main Street, to launch her latest book – Wayfarer: Love, Loss and Life on Britain’s Ancient Paths.
She will talk about the book, read excerpts from it and sign copies at the event, on Thursday, May 2, at 7pm.
Phoebe – who has appeared in a number of TV programmes – describes in the book how whilst walking some of Britain's oldest pilgrim paths, she confronted past traumas from her life.
Wave of Nostalgia owner, Diane Park, says: "I’ve loved watching Phoebe on TV programmes including Countryfile, BBC Breakfast, Saturday Live and Britain’s Best Walks, where her enthusiasm for nature and the outdoors was really inspiring.
"It’s going to be special discovering how Phoebe found a fantastic way through our beautiful countryside to beat her demons."
For anyone unable to attend the event in person, it is also being shared via Zoom.
Tickets can be obtained, priced £5, by calling at Wave of Nostalgia or online at waveofnostalgia.co.uk/event-tickets
The event will also see ten per cent off the price of all books on sale at Wave of Nostalgia.
