A 14-YEAR-old boy has died in a crash near Keighley Tarn.
He was a passenger in a car involved in a one-vehicle collision at Tarn Lane, Keighley, yesterday afternoon (Apr 28).
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at around 2.20pm, to come forward.
The silver Vauxhall Corsa was travelling towards Black Hill Lane at the time of the collision.
The 14-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 21-year-old man – who was driving the vehicle – was taken to hospital for treatment, and was then arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.
Two other passengers in the car suffered minor injuries.
Detective Inspector Paul Conroy, of the West Yorkshire Police Major Collision Enquiry Team, says: "This was a tragic incident, where a young boy has lost his life in a serious road traffic collision.
"His family is being supported by specially-trained officers.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time who saw the vehicle or collision, or who may have dashcam footage, to come forward.”
