A COMMUNITY garden is being created at historic East Riddlesden Hall.
The team at the 17th-century National Trust property is working on the project, helped by Keighley town councillor Mohammed Muazzam.
Part funding has been provided through a ward grant from the town council.
The allotment-style Beck Garden will enable members of the community to learn new skills and grow their own food, with the aim of also boosting people's wellbeing.
Ben Cooper, senior gardener at East Riddlesden Hall, says: "The Beck Garden will be a fantastic space for people from our local community to come and enjoy some time in nature.
"The garden will be planned in an allotment style – with herbs, vegetables and a small orchard. The food produced will be given back to the community or used in our tearoom onsite.
"Every visit made by people to East Riddlesden Hall helps us look after this special place, from taking care of our collections to nurturing nature in the gardens."
The hall, once at the heart of the agricultural estate of Riddlesden, was gifted to the National Trust in 1934.
