ALISON Lowe is set to continue in the role of West Yorkshire deputy mayor for policing and crime.
Her name has been put forward for the post by the newly re-elected mayor, Tracy Brabin.
And the nomination is recommended for approval at a meeting of West Yorkshire Police and Crime Panel on June 14.
Ms Lowe was first appointed deputy mayor for policing and crime in 2021.
Working with the mayor, she oversees policing across West Yorkshire and commissions services such as to support victims.
"I’m grateful to Tracy for nominating me to be deputy mayor for her second term in office," she says.
"I’m proud to be asked to continue in this role and ensure we have a policing service in West Yorkshire that works for everyone."
Ms Brabin says: "Alison and I have worked side by side over the last three years to build a safer, fairer region for everybody.
"We've delivered on our pledges to recruit 750 more frontline police officers and staff, whilst prioritising the safety of women and girls.
"We now have a fantastic opportunity to build on that work and I know Alison will continue to provide a strong voice for all our communities."
