GLOWING tribute has been paid to a spring manufacturer established over 180 years ago.
George Emmott (Pawsons) Ltd was founded in 1840 to supply springs and pressings to the textile industry.
Now it designs and manufactures a wide range of spring products, including bespoke items to meet customers' needs.
Keighley MP Robbie Moore praised the company during a visit to its premises at Wadsworth Mill in Oxenhope.
He met the firm's general manager Simon Marsden and several employees and was given a tour of the premises, learning about the various production techniques and skills used.
Mr Moore said: "The company has a rich history, designing and manufacturing a wide range of high-quality springs and pressings, and it has built an illustrious reputation for its innovative approach. It works closely with customers to develop bespoke solutions.
"It is businesses like George Emmott that are the heart and soul of our area – providing locally-based, high-skilled jobs and contributing both to local industry and the wider economy.
"It was fascinating to learn more about the various techniques and hand skills used along the production line and chat to the team about its priorities for the future.
"A huge thanks go to Simon and the team who work so hard day in, day out to help take the business from strength to strength."
