A CATTLE sale is being held at a Kildwick farm.
More than 70 pedigree Aberdeen Angus will go under the hammer at Airedale House Farm on Saturday, June 1.
The cattle are part of the award-winning Airedale herd at the family farm run by David and Judith Isherwood, and son Josh.
Conducting the 1pm sale is CCM Auctions, in conjunction with the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society.
On offer will be a range of cows with calves at foot – where a calf is kept with its mother until old enough to wean naturally – along with nine yearling bulls, plus embryos and semen.
"Staging the sale on the family's own farm is designed to give potential purchasers an opportunity to view the environment where the cattle have been raised," said a spokesperson.
The Isherwood family also runs a butchers business in Silsden, where prime beef from the herd is in high demand.
David says: "Our breeding policy is to fill each animal’s pedigree with a list of prominent dams and sires.
"We believe these cattle will go on to do well for their new owners and in turn further promote our Airedale Angus brand."
