A KEIGHLEY gym has flexed its fundraising muscles.

NRGym staged its third HYROX event, which combines running with workouts.

And over £1,000 was raised, to be split between Airedale Hospital & Community Charity and Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice Manorlands.

Nearly 70 people took part in the challenge, and there was a team of volunteers to carry out tasks such as stewarding.

Rousel Chowdhury, who co-owns NRGym with Nick Hindle, said: "We would like to say a big thanks to all those who came along to support the event, by taking part or helping out where needed on the day. It wouldn’t have been possible without you!

"And I'd like to give a special shout out to the onsite Clean Eats Kitchen for its fundraising efforts and all the team which made the event a success – we can’t wait to host the fourth later in the year."

In addition to its fundraising support, Clean Eats Kitchen gave all competitors a complimentary post-challenge protein shake.

Jodie Hearnshaw, manager of Airedale Hospital & Community Charity, says: "We're so grateful to everyone from the NRGym community and Clean Eats Kitchen for taking on such an unbelievable challenge. It sounded like an amazing day."
