A SUCCESSFUL quiz will help add sparkle to a village at Christmas.

The event, at the Snooty Fox in Oakworth, raised £470.

It was held as part of a fundraising campaign spearheaded by Oakworth Village Christmas Lights Group.

"We'd like to thank everyone who came along and helped us raise an incredible amount," said a spokesperson.

"Special thanks must go to the Snooty Fox for being great hosts and all those who helped provide prizes including The Mill Stack, Alison Boole, Andrea Picton, Mags Dearden and Irene Fowler. Also, thanks to David Aspinall, Andy Wade and the whole team for working so hard on the quiz questions."

The group's next event is a race night, being staged in partnership with Keighley Lions Club and Oakworth Village Hall.

It takes place at the village hall on June 29.

There will be six races.
