CARE homes in the district are opening their doors to the public as part of a national initiative.

Spellman Care's four homes are staging activities during Care Home Open Week, which starts on June 24.

The group runs Craven Nursing Home in Skipton, Springbank at Silsden, Steeton Court and Ghyll Royd, Guiseley.

Activities to mark the week, which is spearheaded by Championing Social Care, will range from veterans' cafes to dog shows.

Philippa Young, operations manager at Spellman Care, says: "We’re thrilled to participate in Care Home Open Week.

"This is a wonderful chance to showcase the positive, enriching environment we offer our residents.

"We encourage everyone to come along, join in activities and experience the warmth and vibrancy of our communities firsthand."
