TRAINS are being cancelled between Bradford and Skipton due to an emergency situation on the track.
Northern Rail said at 9.11am today that all lines between Shipley and Skipton railway stations are blocked due to emergency services dealing with an incident on the line.
A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) said resources were sent to Steeton and Silsden Railway Station just after 8.30am.
Network Rail staff are also on site.
This is impacting the following services:
- Bradford Forster Square - Skipton will be cancelled until further notice
- Leeds - Morecambe/Carlisle will be unable to run between Shipley - Skipton
- Leeds - Skipton services will be unable to run between Shipley - Skipton
Road transport has been requested to run between Shipley and Skipton in both directions, according to Northern Rail.
This is adding an extra 60 minutes onto normal journey times.
Northern Rail said the disruption is expected until at least 12pm.
The Telegraph & Argus has contacted British Transport Police for more details.
