ANYONE interested in rail travel on the Airedale line is invited to attend a meeting.

Aire Valley Rail Users Group is staging its annual general meeting, at Saltaire Methodist Church, on Saturday, June 15, starting at 1.30pm.

The church is at the junction of Saltaire Road and George Street, a short walk from Saltaire railway station.

Friends of Airedale Line, which aims to promote links with communities along the route, will also stage its annual meeting.

The Friends will facilitate the adoption of stations, through a Northern scheme, enabling sites to become community hubs.

Guest speaker at the event is Pete Myers, who will highlight examples of community rail action across the north of England.

Tim Calow, chair of Aire Valley Rail Users Group, says: "Anyone who has an interest in local rail services is welcome to attend.

"This is a chance to have your say about the development of our train services and to help us build community links along the line.

"We look forward to seeing people there – and do bring a friend!"

Aire Valley Rail Users Group is a voluntary organisation which campaigns for improved train services between Leeds, Bradford, Shipley, Bingley, Keighley, Skipton and Gargrave.
