NORTH Yorkshire Rotters are giving a presentation at Glusburn.

The group of volunteers, managed by North Yorkshire Council, was set up to inspire people to change their waste habits.

Members promote home composting and waste reduction through talks, events and school workshops.

The Rotters are giving a talk at the next meeting of Glusburn and Cross Hills Gardening Society, which anyone is welcome to attend.

How to maintain good soil, and composting, will be spotlighted.

Derek Blackwell, for the society, says: "This is a great opportunity to learn more about how to create healthy soil and encourage soil life and natural predators, manage its structure and minerals, and make good use of compost.

"We look forward to seeing people there."

The meeting takes place at Glusburn Community and Arts Centre – the institute building – in Colne Road, on Friday, June 21, at 7.30pm.

Admission is £3 for society members, and £5 for non-members.

Further information can be obtained from Mr Blackwell on 07834 713735.

North Yorkshire Rotters welcome new volunteers.

A spokesperson says: "If you are passionate about environmental issues, volunteering with the Rotters is a great way to get involved with your community."
