A SUMMER exhibition is celebrating a milestone at East Riddlesden Hall.
The event is marking 90 years since the 17th-century manor house was presented to the National Trust.
As part of the exhibition, schoolchildren from the area – together with staff and volunteers at the property – have helped create a tapestry, with each patch illustrating what the hall means to them.
After years of neglect the house faced demolition, but brothers William and John Brigg bought the building and bequeathed it to the trust, on the understanding it would be conserved and the surrounding land used for recreation by the community.
Visitors to the exhibition can learn more about the brothers and the estate's history.
Amy Gregory, collections and house officer at East Riddlesden Hall, says: "Through this exhibition we celebrate the passion and dedication the brothers had towards saving the property."
