SILSDEN Proms on the Farm is striking up again to raise money for charity.

The event takes place at Jackson's field, in Keighley Road, on Saturday, July 20, from 6.30pm.

Proceeds are split between Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice Manorlands and Silsden Methodist Church.

Despite heavy rain, last year's event raised £5,000.

Lead organiser, William Jowitt, says: "We’re hoping for some sunshine this year, but we know from last year that whatever the weather people from Silsden and the surrounding area really do come out to support this event and help us raise money for the two causes.

"We can’t wait to welcome guests for a fantastic evening of music, dancing and great company. We've people of all ages attending; it really does bring our community together."

Entertainment will be provided by Tewit Silver Band, Cononley soprano April Elizabeth, Hot Aire concert band and The 1960 Four.

People take their own picnics, and gazebo spaces are available to book. Prizes are awarded for best-dressed gazebo and deckchair.

Businesses and organisations are providing sponsorship and donating items for an auction, raffle and bottle stall.

Tickets are £15 for adults, with accompanied under-16s admitted free.
