A BAFTA award-winning CBeebies presenter and Strictly star is coming to Keighley.

George Webster – whose performance in the 2022 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special has been viewed by millions – will open a summer festival being staged in the town by charity Down Syndrome Training & Support Services.

Chromosome Rocks takes place at Keighley Rugby Union Football Club, in Skipton Road, Utley, on Saturday, July 13, from 1pm to 6.30pm.

The event will feature a wide range of attractions.

There will be live music from The Wild Geese, Guiseley Jazz Band and Clown Wagon.

Dance21 and Twirly21s will perform.

Also present will be catering and merchandise stalls, and a licensed bar.

Plus there is a tombola, raffle, bouncy castle, interactive theatre show, children's disco, a visiting fire engine, face painting and field game activities.

All proceeds will go to Bingley-based Down Syndrome Training & Support Services, which offers support and a range of training for parents and professionals living and working with children and young adults with Down syndrome.

The festival follows the success of a similar event staged last year.

Claire Harwood, for the charity, says: "Last year was an amazing day – everyone had a brilliant time.

"Children were playing, it brought so much joy, and the musical performances were wonderful.

"It brought everybody together.

"I am so excited for this year and ready for more fun – and of course lots of dancing!

"There is a fantastic line up of entertainment for all the family.

"We can't wait to welcome everyone."
