A CLUB that provides sporting opportunities for people with disabilities has received a boost.
Bradford, Keighley and Skipton Disability Athletics Club has been awarded £5,700 for new kits.
The grant was presented by Keighley-based charity Green Crescent Aid UK.
Amir Khan, a trustee with the charity, says: "I was delighted to present the cheque.
"The passion, drive and skill of club members is amazing.
"They compete in numerous competitions nationally, and have won many awards.
"To have this phenomenal club in our community is a blessing."
He adds: "Due to a lack of funds, teammates were having to share vests during competitions and were wearing old uniforms.
"The club management is delighted the athletes can now all have their own kits.
"There are many children and teenagers with different disabilities within our community that would benefit from membership of this club, where they can achieve incredible things.
"Everyone has their own strengths, and the club is a place that enables people to develop their skills in a competitive environment.
"Parents are encouraged to take their children along for a taster session and to learn more about the club.
"Training days are Mondays and Wednesdays, 6pm-7.30pm, at Carlton Keighley running track."
