OXENHOPE Recreation have produced a beautiful tribute for two of their former players.
Tom Marshall and Alex Wysocki were talented footballers who served the club with distinction but both have died tragically young over the last few years.
Marshall passed away at the age of just 25 in October 2019, with a coroner’s ruling determining that he died by misadventure.
Wysocki passed away this March aged only 24, just weeks after being diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer.
And to honour them, Oxenhope’s committee have renamed their Recreation Ground in memory of the pair.
That means, for this season at the very least, Oxenhope will have their home games at The Marshall Wysocki Memorial Ground.
The amateur club play in the West Yorkshire Association Football League.
