A SCHOOL reunion is being held at Keighley Library.

The event is being staged for former pupils, and teachers, of the old Highfield School.

People from any period are invited to attend the reunion, at the library in North Street on Saturday, August 24, between 10.30am and 4pm.

There will be a chance to reminisce and view an exhibition of photos.

The library is staging the event in conjunction with Keighley Schools Heritage Group.

Highfield School stood for 88 years in Drewry Road, Keighley, but closed its doors for the final time in the summer of 2000.

All 240 pupils at that time received a thesaurus as a leaving present.

The building was subsequently demolished and the site is now occupied by the Highfield Centre.
