TWO music festivals are set to strike a chord with the Keighley-district public.

The first – at the Golden Fleece, Oakworth, on Saturday, August 3 – is in aid of locally-based mental health organisation, Missing Peace Wellbeing + Support.

Mental Health Rocks – from 1pm until late – will feature Frank Bono, rock band Jumpstart, Night Patrol and singer-guitarist Jake Dixon.

Emma Gibson, from Missing Peace, says: "We are really looking forward to the event.

"A great line-up of music and family-friendly activities has been organised.

"Together we will be running a tombola and bake sale, and Missing Peace will be there with information about our services and to chat about all things mental health."

And the August bank holiday weekend will see the return of Crickfest, following last year's sell-out event.

The extravaganza takes place at Cullingworth Cricket Club, from 7pm on Saturday, August 24, and then from 1.30pm on the Sunday.

Organisers say the family-friendly event promises to be "bigger than ever".

Sean Connolly, for the organising team, says: "The final performers are well-known tribute acts The Abba Tribute Band and Lee Brady as Elton. We chose them as we know how popular these iconic acts are, and the songs are popular with all age groups."

Supporting the tribute bands are a number of acts including Juke House Jam Band, Dark Wolf, Thunder Monkeys, Beatles tribute The Fools on the Hill and popular rock choir Voices of Yorkshire.

The Saturday night will include performances by two bands from Parkside School in Cullingworth – Eutony and Big Beef – and special £5 tickets for the session will be available for young people aged 11 to 18.

Crickfest weekend tickets are £20 for everyone aged 16 and over, and £10 for three-to-15-year-olds. Family tickets, admitting two adults and two children, are £50. Under-threes are admitted free.

Sean adds: "Ticket sales have been excellent. Demand is high thanks to the brilliant reputation we have gained over the years, the great line-up and the affordable prices, so we are urging people to get their tickets sooner rather than later so they don’t miss out. We're not planning to sell tickets on the day. Also, whilst tickets can be obtained via Eventbrite, we recommend buying them in person from Cullingworth Cricket Club to avoid booking fees."

Tickets can be picked up from the clubhouse bar, which is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 2pm to 7pm.
