PUPILS from Oxenhope Primary School had their say during a debate at Bradford's City Hall.
They were amongst young people from seven Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust schools who took part in an inaugural student parliament, in the council chamber.
The pupils discussed issues affecting their schools and communities, ranging from road and street safety to mental health.
There was also a chance to raise concerns with a panel of senior figures from across West Yorkshire, including Richard Cracknell, of Child Friendly Bradford; David Ryan, of Born in Bradford; Charles Dacres, from the Hate Crime Alliance, and Azam Ali, of The Linking Network.
And there was a guest appearance from the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Beverley Mullaney.
Carol Dewhurst, chief executive officer of Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust, says: "We were thrilled to see our pupils take on the roles of parliamentarians, engaging in meaningful discussions and making their voices heard.
"The parliament is not just an event, it’s a testament to our belief in the potential of our young people to become the leaders of the next generation and is part of a broader initiative to ensure that students across our family of schools are confident in having a voice."
