A CHARITY which supports families with children on the autistic spectrum has received a boost.
Airedale and Wharfedale Autism Response (AWARE) has been granted £1,000 from the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation.
The cash will enable AWARE to continue running a popular Saturday club.
Margaret Nash, the charity's project manager, says: "We're really thankful for the donation, which will be a huge help towards our Saturday club, which runs in term time for our younger members."
AWARE supports families with a range of help and advice, and organises activities.
Phillippa Morrall, external communications manager at Yorkshire Building Society, says: "I've experienced first-hand how proactive and supportive the team at AWARE is.
"The charity covers a huge area across Airedale, Wharfedale, Bradford and Craven and helps hundreds of families with much-needed support and information.
"We're so pleased to be able to support AWARE with this donation to contribute to the running of its Saturday club."
The Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation is funded through the Small Change Big Difference scheme, where society members donate pennies from the interest on their accounts to help small charities.
