PEOPLE across the district are being reminded that help is at hand for anyone struggling with their mental wellbeing.

Bradford District and Craven Talking Therapies says that whilst this time of year may offer a welcome break from routine for many, it can also bring additional stresses.

The service provides a range of support, and it has drawn up various tips aimed at helping people stay mentally and physically healthy.

A spokesperson says: "The school holidays may be a time of joy and family bonding, but they can also bring added pressures.

"Parents might struggle with balancing work commitments, keeping children entertained or dealing with financial strains.

"Workers – whether they are parents or not – may face additional challenges due to colleagues taking time off, increased workloads or trying to balance work and family life. These factors can contribute to heightened stress and anxiety levels.

"Recognising these challenges, we offer a range of treatments for individuals experiencing common mental health issues such as stress, anxiety and depression. These therapies are designed to be flexible and confidential, and are tailored to meet the needs of each individual."

Naomi Holdsworth, operations service manager at Bradford District and Craven Talking Therapies, says: "We understand that the school holidays can be a challenging time for many families and workers, and we’re here to provide the support you need to manage stress and anxiety."

Tips include:

* Get out in the fresh air and enjoy a walk

* Follow a healthy diet; summer can be a good time to introduce fresh salads to your diet

* Drink plenty of water, especially during warmer weather

* Use lighter nights as an opportunity to try a new sport or way to get active

* Enjoy the sunshine and practice mindfulness. Take a few minutes each day to do something like listening to the sound of nature

The Bradford District and Craven Talking Therapies service is open to anyone over 16 registered with a GP in Bradford, Wharfedale, Airedale or Craven.

People don’t have to go through their GP to access support. Register online at bdctalkingtherapies.nhs.uk

Last year the service added an AI-powered 'chatbot' to its website.

The facility, known as Limbic, aims to make it easier for those seeking help to access the right services.
