PASSENGERS travelling with Northern will be able to book tickets further in advance from next Friday (August 23).
The rail operator – which runs services on the Airedale line – says tickets will be available 12 weeks ahead of travel, compared to the current six.
Through the initiative, customers can get up to 65 per cent off the price of standard fares on selected routes.
Mark Powles, for Northern, says: "The last time tickets were available 12 weeks ahead of travel was before the pandemic. Since then, they've only been on offer six weeks in advance.
"We have listened to our customers and are reinstating the 12-week booking period.
"Advance purchase tickets offer great low fares to places all across our network and we hope this decision will encourage people to use the train to get out and explore the region.
"The further in advance tickets are booked, the cheaper the fare.
"From August 23, people will be able to buy tickets for as far ahead as Friday, November 15, enabling them to plan their journeys well in advance of travel."
