CELEBRATIONS have continued as more Keighley stories of achievement emerge following the publication of A-level and other results.

At Bradford Grammar School, a Keighley teenager – Pollyanna Greene-Wright – was amongst the outstanding performers.

The 18-year-old joined the school in Year 9, having previously lived in Athens.

She has gained A-level A*s in classical civilisation, Greek, history and Latin.

Pollyanna was the only student on the Greek course, and is now further pursuing her love for the subject by studying classics at Cambridge University.

She says: "I put in a lot of work beforehand and it’s all paid off. The school really helped me follow my passion by allowing me to study Greek at A-level – and the classics department is amazing!"

And at Keighley College, aspiring teacher Sareena Nadeem secured a place at university after gaining a distinction in her T-level education and childcare course, which included an industry placement.

Sareena, 18, says: "I’m so pleased! I wasn't expecting a distinction.

"I've now got a place at the University of Bradford, where I will be doing a BA Hons teaching degree. My advice to anyone is put in the hard work, and it will pay off."

She adds: "The T-level gave me the knowledge I needed as well as amazing first-hand experience during the placement. That has given me the confidence to go further into the teaching sector.

"All the staff at Keighley College were amazing, but a massive thanks goes to my tutors. I couldn't have done it without them!"

Business students at the college are celebrating a 100 per cent pass rate.

All 15 learners completed their Level 3 diploma in business, picking up a clutch of distinctions and merits.

Sharooz Qamar gained a distinction* and distinction.

He says: "I found my experience at Keighley College amazing. I had very supportive tutors who helped me, and the college environment was perfect.

"I’m very proud to be part of a group which all passed. We put in the hours and deserved these amazing grades."

He now plans to study business and law, possibly at the University of Bradford.

Classmate Nathan Sands was also pleased with his distinction and distinction*, and is now looking to either start an apprenticeship or go straight into employment.

He said: "I’m looking to see what’s out there and am just in the process of creating a CV. I will then start applying."

Kevin Burke, head of academic & social sciences at Keighley College, says: "The hard work has clearly paid off for these students.

"This is a super achievement for students and staff, and shows our drive and commitment to ensure that our students get the best possible outcomes towards their destinations."

The college’s deputy head of department for service professions, Clare Ravenscroft, says: "We are incredibly proud of our BTEC diploma students for their unwavering dedication and hard work in achieving top grades.

"Their commitment to excellence is truly inspiring and a testament to their determination."
