A WOMEN'S Health Month is being held across Airedale.
Events are being staged at several GP surgeries, where women will be able to access information and advice and attend a walk-in cervical screening facility.
The initiative runs from Thursday, September 12, until October 17.
Events will be at Farfield Group Practice, West Lane, Keighley, on September 12; Ling House, Scott Street, Keighley, on September 19 and October 10; Haworth Medical Centre on September 26; Kilmeny Surgery, Ashbourne Road, Keighley, on October 3, and Holycroft Surgery, Oakworth Road, Keighley, on October 17.
All sessions are from 10am -1.30pm.
The venture will also see 'cancer champions', appointed by Modality GP practices and Ling House, working over the next few months with other organisations to encourage people to attend cancer screening appointments when invited.
Ling House GP, Dr David Thompson, says: "We're looking forward to making a difference in the months ahead.
"Please attend your cancer screening appointments when invited. If cancer is detected at an early stage, it can drastically improve your chances of a positive outcome."
Ahead of the start of Women's Health Month, a Facebook live question-and-answer event is taking place on Tuesday, September 10, between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
