AS final preparations are made for this year’s Keighley Show, being held on Saturday (September 7), we take a photographic step back in time.
These photos were all shot at the 1981 show, when the event – now staged at Marley playing fields – took place at Victoria Park.
The photographs are from black-and-white negatives that were actually taken by the Keighley News.
They were amongst a collection of thousands of negatives, capturing life around the town and surrounding villages during a two-year period between August 1981 and 1983, that were acquired by Keighley and District Local History Society.
