ACCORDING to romantic poet John Keats, it’s the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness.
Autumn, at least in meteorological terms, is now underway.
According to the Met Office calendar, the first day of autumn is September 1, and ends on November 30.
The autumn equinox is on September 22.
It’s a season that as well as witnessing changes in weather, nature and our landscapes, also traditionally heralds a range of events and new programmes of activities for many groups and organisations.
Here we take a photographic glimpse back at autumn scenes and events, captured across the district over the years.
