A VILLAGE post office has relocated.
The former Riddlesden branch has opened its doors at new premises – Londis, in Bradford Road, Stockbridge.
Renamed Bradford Road Post Office, the facility – which includes a convenience store – is being run by the same postmaster, Bal Singh.
There is a 40-space car park, including designated disabled bays.
Post Office Ltd says the branch offers an extra 33 hours' service each week, compared to provision at the former Bar Lane site.
A spokesperson adds: "There are two serving positions – one screened, and the other an open plan retail counter for the convenience store. The screened counter offers the full range of post office services and will be open from 8am-8pm Monday to Saturday and 8am-6pm on Sundays, whilst the open plan counter – providing selected services – will operate between 7am and 10pm Monday to Sunday.
"The new premises are approximately 400 metres from the old branch. With any relocation it's inevitable that whilst some customers will have an easier journey to the new location, regrettably others will have further to travel. In terms of pedestrian access, there are well maintained pavements, with dropped kerbs along the route from the former site."
