A MAN who failed to buy a £3.20 rail ticket to travel from Crossflatts to Keighley has been ordered to pay over £460 by magistrates.
John Sherman committed the offence on March 7 this year, Kirklees (Huddersfield) Magistrates Court heard.
A fixed penalty notice subsequently issued had also gone unpaid.
The 49-year-old – of Bradford Road, Cottingley Bridge – was fined £220 and ordered to pay £150 costs, an £88 victim surcharge and £3.20 compensation.
