A PRIMARY school has served up an initiative to help new reception children make the educational transition.
Oxenhope Primary invited parents into school to have lunch with their children.
Headteacher, Mrs Alice Jones, says: "It's very important that we get the transition right for the children, so that we can support their emotional and mental health.
"Inviting families to come and have lunch helps the children feel that the most important people in their lives have a place in school.
"It also gives parents a chance to see the lunchtime set-up, which can be one of the things they worry about most.
"We always encourage healthy eating and our kitchen staff make great meals, so it’s lovely that the parents learn about that aspect too."
