Almost 200 secondary schools and colleges across West Yorkshire will receive free support to educate students about careers in the creative industries.
The support, funded by West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin and forming part of the 'Careers in the Arts' initiative, consists of free downloadable lesson plans designed to help teachers inspire and inform students.
The interactive lesson plans include interviews with working creatives, filmed by trainee journalists from Leeds City College.
Ms Brabin, who had a 30-year career as an actor and writer before entering politics, has pledged to offer the same opportunities that she had to young people across West Yorkshire.
Catherine Hayward, a representative of Leeds Heritage Theatres, which provided specialist input on the Careers in the Arts initiative, said: "By gaining a thorough understanding of the arts sector in our region, we hope young people will develop a deeper understanding of the sector and take steps towards a career in the creative industries."
A new skills swap service and careers portal have also been launched by the West Yorkshire Combined authority, which, alongside the Careers in the Arts initiative, form part of the Combined Authority's 'West Yorkshire Careers Hub.'
