TACKLING knife crime and anti-social behaviour should be among top priorities according to a public survey.

People are being asked for their views on what should form the focus of the new West Yorkshire Police and Crime Plan.

Over 60 per cent of those who have responded so far feel that tackling knife crime is important, whilst three-quarters have flagged up the need to address anti-social behaviour.

The online survey runs until the end of next month, and the public is being urged to give its views at smartsurvey.co.uk/s/PoliceandCrimePlanConsultation2024-2028

West Yorkshire mayor, Tracy Brabin, says: "We are creating a safer, fairer region and it's important that people get the chance to have their say on that.

"That is why we are consulting with the public as we create a new Police and Crime Plan.

"I would like to thank all those who have already had their say through the short online survey, and urge others to do so before the end of October."

Ms Brabin is also keen to hear from professionals and organisations working with victims and perpetrators of crime, plus groups with an interest in community safety issues. They can complete a version of the survey at susmartsurvey.co.uk/s/PartnerSurvey2024-2028
