BUILDING society customers in Keighley and Silsden are being given the chance to vote for good causes that will receive cash aid.
Skipton Building Society has launched its annual Community Giving scheme, with £164,000 – double last year's amount – being distributed through all its branches.
A customer vote will decide which of three donations – £1,000, £600 or £400 – each nominated charity will receive.
At the Keighley branch, the trio of causes is Dementia Friendly Keighley, the Good Food Shop and the Good Shepherd Centre.
And at Silsden, the charities are Cancer Support Yorkshire, Steeton & Silsden Scout Group and The Hive.
Customers have until November 1 to vote at their branch.
Abigail Wallbank, the Skipton's group social impact senior specialist, says: "At the Skipton, we’re passionate about supporting the local communities where our members live and work.
"Doubling our donation amounts this year allows us to make an even greater difference to the charities that mean so much to our customers. We are proud to offer customers the opportunity to have a direct say in where our funding goes and look forward to seeing the positive impact these donations will have in the Keighley and Silsden areas."
