A new transport director has been appointed to the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.

Tim Taylor will take up the role of director of transport services, overseeing customer services across bus stations, M-card payment systems, concessionary travel, and all information channels.

He currently serves as director of public transport operations at South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority.

Mr Taylor has played a key role in implementing travel concessions for young people and programmes of bus network reform.

He led South Yorkshire's Covid-19 response as director of customer services and has a 'wealth of experience' in organisational change and strategic planning.

Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin, said: "I'm delighted that Tim will be joining our senior team at such an exciting time, with plans for mass transit and bus reform underway.

"Tim's extensive experience and knowledge will be invaluable in helping deliver my key pledges on transport, as we continue building a better-connected region that works for all."

Simon Warburton, executive director for transport at West Yorkshire Combined Authority, said: "Tim's expertise will be crucial in our ambition to improve the transport network in West Yorkshire.

"I'm looking forward to working closely together to deliver for communities and business across the region."
