A CHARITABLE foundation which has helped good causes across Keighley is celebrating a milestone.
Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation is marking 25 years since it made its first donation.
And since 1999, the amount awarded UK-wide has exceeded £10 million.
In the past four years alone, nearly £9,000 has been shared by nine Keighley charities.
Recipients have included Keighley Association Women and Children's Centre.
The charitable foundation is funded through Yorkshire Building Society's Small Change Big Difference scheme, which sees members donate pennies from the interest on their accounts once a year.
Joanne Briggs, the society's Keighley branch manager, says: "I am delighted that the charitable foundation has supported so many charities and good causes in our community, nominated by our colleagues and members.
"The donations have made a huge difference to people locally and it’s thanks to the ongoing generosity of our members that the charitable foundation can continue to support so many causes.
"We’re proud to have helped play a part in donating over £10 million to charitable organisations and good causes across the UK. It shows that small change really can make a big difference."
