CLIMATE Action Silsden is expanding the support it provides to help people reduce their energy bills.

The group can assist residents to negotiate with their energy provider should they be struggling, or change tariff or supplier.

Extended support is being offered through an energy helpdesk, which the group has been running for the past year at a monthly repair cafe.

Alison Tribe, for Climate Action Silsden, says: "Last winter, the helpdesk provided information to residents about steps they could take to make their homes more energy efficient and grants that were available to help with the cost. The group also has a thermal imaging camera, which can help residents identify places in their home where they're losing heat.

"Following further increases in fuel prices and the removal of winter fuel payments from most pensioners, the group has extended its support. We can help residents explore alternative and potentially cheaper tariffs and change energy provider, negotiate with their supplier if they're struggling, and use their smart meter to reduce energy usage."

The helpdesk is at Silsden Methodist Church this Saturday (October 19) and on November 16 and December 21, 9.30am-11.30am, and at the Hive Community Centre on November 15 and December 6, 1pm-2.30pm. Alternatively, email info@climateactionsilsden.org.uk
