MORE than 1.8 million Covid and flu jabs have been delivered in the region so far this autumn, new figures show.
The first set of seasonal data for Yorkshire and the north-east reveals that over 632,800 Covid-19 and 1,196,700 flu vaccinations have been delivered to eligible patients.
Across England, the total number of vaccinations to date exceeds 10 million.
NHS regional medical director, Dr Hamish McLure, says: "NHS vaccination teams are working hard to protect people who are at the greatest risk from those viruses which cause most harm during winter.
"Protection from previous flu and Covid-19 vaccines fades, and the viruses change over time, so people should make sure they’re ready for winter by getting vaccinated.
"Anyone eligible can book an appointment via the NHS website or app, or by calling 119.
"The flu vaccine can also be booked by searching online for a local pharmacy, and there are walk-in sites available to get the Covid-19 vaccine."
Patients eligible for free Covid and flu vaccinations include people aged 65 or over, those who are pregnant, anyone aged six months to 64 years in a clinical risk group, older adults in care homes and frontline health and social care workers.
